New Comics this Wednesday, October 17

The Joker has returned to the DC New 52, and he is aiming much higher than killing one Robin. He wants the entire Bat-family. This week, Joker makes an appearance in the pages of Catwoman #13 by new series writer Ann Nocenti and artist Adriana Melo. This prelude issue will further reveal why the clown has returned and who he plans to target, so keep an eye out for the incredible cover by Greg Capullo with a die-cut overcover! Then in Justice League #13, Geoff Johns and Tony Daniel bring readers the first full appearance of a villain that will cause the team grief for years to come -- the Cheetah! But that's not all. This is part one of a two-part chapter leading to 2013's Trinity War. Last month, Sword and Sorcery debuted with a zero issue, and the story continues this Wednesday in issue #1. Amy Winston discovered that she can turn into Princess Amaya, Protector of Gemworld; however, not all news is good because she also discovered her family is trying to kill her. If you are looking for a little more fantasy themed reading, He-Man and The Masters of the Universe #3 features He-Man and Teela on the run from Skeletor's minions, but luck is not with them as they encounter Mer-Man.

Marvel Now! Point One features introductions to several new series due to launch soon, such as Nova, Young Avengers, the recently announced Secret Avengers, and others by creative talent like Brian Bendis, Matt Fraction, Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Salvador Larroca and more! This one-shot will give fans a look at what is coming up for the Marvel universe after AvX. Then, AvX Consequences #2 further explorers the ramifications of the choices made by a few of the most powerful beings on Earth. And if the original series was not cute enough for you, check out A-Babies vs X-Babies #1 by Skottie Young and Gurihiru. This is it, the fate of the world rests in the tiny hands of these super powered babies, but will the Earth be saved before nap time? For those of you following the Minimum Carnage storyline, don't forget to pick up Venom #26 as the Scarlet Spider and Venom continue their battle against Carnage on a whole new level.

If Sunday's premiere of Walking Dead left you wanting more survival horror action, don't miss this month's Walking Dead #103 by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard. Rick and the rest of the town are still devastated over their recent loss and have decided to accept their defeat by Negan and Lucille...or have they?
