Ring 'Em Up!

Want to wage your own personal re-enactment of Blackest Night? Then you're really going to want the seven limited-distribution promotional rings that are being offered in conjunction with seven Blackest Night tie-in books shipping in November. The seven books include Doom Patrol #4, Booster Gold #26, R.E.B.E.L.S. #10, Adventure Comics #4, Outsiders #24, Justice League of America #39, and Blackest Night #5. Each book will have a ring offered in conjunction with its release. Prepay for the entire set and you're guaranteed one of each ring--and we'll even give you a Black Lantern ring immediately to get your collection started! This offer is limited, though, so don't wait too late--when we run out of rings, that's it!

(Amazing powers not included, unless you have sufficient will power...)

Stardust Overdrive Sneak Peek Slated for 10/31

YuGiOh fans, take note: the sneak peek event for the next YuGiOh booster set, Stardust Overdrive, is slated for 1pm on Saturday, October 31st. The price for the sneak peek is $20; that gets you five packs of the next booster release two weeks before they go on sale to the rest of the world--and there are bonus items as well! We start signing people up at noon, for those of you already planning your schedule.

The last YuGiOh sneak peek we hosted drew more than 60 people, and we're hoping for even more this time. Konami has allowed us to order enough card packs to handle up to 80 people--but after that, we have to start turning folks away. If you want to be sure you don't miss out, come on by and preregister--that way you're guaranteed that you'll have a slot when you show up on October 31st!

Blackest Night Tie-Ins Make for a Bright Week

Yep, there are two Blackest Night books this week--Blackest Night: Batman #3 (and what a great ending to this miniseries!) and Green Lantern Corps #41, both must-reads for those who want the full Blackest Night picture. Marvel gives us Web of Spider-Man #1 (spotlighting Spidey's supporting cast, along with new tales of the near-future Spider-Girl) and X-Men Vs. Agents of Atlas #1 (a great way to find out why so many are raving about Agents of Atlas).

The hottest upscale items of the week are Absolute Death, reprinting every Neil Gaiman Death-related piece, and the Batman Family Multi-Part Statue #1, featuring Catwoman and Robin, along with 1 segment of the Batman statue. Get all three Batman Family Statue Sets, and you have a complete Batman as well!

More Entertainment, Less Money!

Looking for a bargain? Then peruse our collected volumes sales shelf, where hundreds of titles with orange stickers are "buy two get one free"! Lotsa great reading in manga, superhero, sophisticated adventure, fantasy, and more!

And while we're talking about bargains, don't forget our huge selection of $1 comics. We update those boxes regularly, so you can find books ranging from a couple of months old to more than 40 years old--and no matter how old or who's in 'em, they're only a buck each!

Great Stuff for October 7th

It's a great week for Bat-fans, with Batman Annual #27 (the first part of a two-parter that leads into the new Azrael series), Batman & Robin #5 (more goodness from Grant Morrison & Philip Tan), and Batman: The Unseen #1 (the new Doug Moench-Kelley Jones limited series with a creepy edge). Meanwhile, the former Brother Voodoo gets an upgrade in Doctor Voodoo and the X-Men get youthened in X-Babies #1.

Here are some of the highlights for the week. Come on by and check 'em out; they're all available for sale as soon as the doors open on Wednesday morning!

And of course, we still have the largest selection of collected volumes in the Southeast, so you can be sure that we've got something you'll enjoy!

Zendikar Release Event coming up Saturday, 10/3!

As Magic: The Gathering fans know, Zendikar officially goes on sale October 3rd--and to celebrate the release of the hottest Magic set in years, we're holding an official release event on Saturday, October 3rd. Come on by and join in the fun.

And just in case you haven't heard what makes Zendikar so phenomenally hot: WotC has inserted some of the rarest original MtG cards in these packs, including Moxes, Black Lotus, and more. These aren't reprints--they're original, ultra-valuable, ultra-desirable collectible cards, put into the packs at random. That means that you might get a card worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. These are only certain to be included in the first wave--and all the Zendikar boxes we have right now are first wave boxes, so get 'em while the getting's good!

Spend Some Time With Superman's Pal

Silver Age DC fans will want to take a look at the impressive selection of very good to fine condition Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen that we recently picked up. Lots of fun Silver Age reading here! (And of course, we still have some primo Superman, Action, and Superboy left from our last large Silver Age purchase, so check them out at the same time!)

Get Savage!

Conan fans, take note--we've just purchased a huge collection of Savage Sword of Conan, and now have about 95% of the first 200 issues in stock in very fine or better! If you've been looking to fill in holes, this is your chance--we rarely see these books in this condition! The last time we got a collection of Savage Sword, 30% of 'em sold in the first two weeks, so don't dawdle!
