A long time ago in a comic shop far, far away, Marvel Comics once held the reins to one of the biggest comic license's out there: Star Wars. Eventually, the Marvel adventures ended, and new ones began at Dark Horse comics. Now, proving that history does repeat itself, Marvel is back at the helm of the ship with the release of Star Wars #1 by Jason Aaron and John Cassaday. The characters you know and love, Luke, Han, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, and the faithful droids C-3PO and R2-D2, are all here! On the heels of destroying the Death Star, these Rebel heroes must do what it takes to free the galaxy from Empire's iron grip. Don't miss this fresh start to what is sure to be the biggest comics event this year! May the Force and good reading be with you!
If a new Star Wars book isn't enough, check out the rest of the books after the break!
Marvel has several other big titles out this week. S.H.I.E.L.D. #2 by Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos hits shelves and Jersey City as Agent Jemma Simmons goes undercover for a special mission that involves everyone's favorite new Inhuman, Ms. Marvel! In Spider-Verse #2 by Enrique Gonzalez Puig, Jed MacKay, and several talented artists, witness the verse-hoping adventures of Video-Game Spidey, Punk-Rock Spidey, Fairy-Tale Spidey, and Mexico's Spider-Man (who's story is all in Spanish!) Then, Shogun and his crew of Weapon X escapees face their doom as they go up against Sinister. Their only hope involves X-23, Sabretooth, Mystique and Lady Deathstrike. Good luck!
Fan-favorite writers Gail Simone and Jim Zub team up with artist Dan Panosian to bring readers the action packed team up Conan/Red Sonja #1. In a story spanning multiple eras of these iconic characters' lives, the two must do battle against an evil sorcerer determined to bring a new age of death and destruction to Hyborians. This week also marks the return of the long awaited Jupiters Legacy #5 by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. Barnabas Wolfe is in town and no superhero is safe. The best part (for him that is) he is sanctioned by the US government!
