Freedom #1, the Xeric Award-wining book by Seamus Heffernan, presents the history of America's founding and draws from equal amounts of myth and fact. In this first issue, readers are introduced to Adam Farr, a teenager in pre-Revolutionary Massachusetts. Adam quickly finds himself at odds with the British Army and the Sons of Liverty, which ends up putting him right in the middle of the conflict between the British and the Patriots. Seamus Heffernan's art and story telling are truly impressive, and I highly recommend this book to any fan of the comics medium.
A group of best friends journey to the con to end all cons: Comic-Con! However, when the group turns to squabbling, things only get worse when they find themselves trapped inside the con. How could being trapped in Comic-Con be a bad thing? Well, when the title of this new series by Sam Humphries and Jerry Gaylord is Fanboys vs. Zombies, I am sure you can guess. With the convention transformed into a shambling hoard, this band of nerds must use all of the knowledge they have gleaned from video games, comic books, and horror movies to survive. This new ongoing series promisses plenty of comedy, horror, and action, so check it out.
