New Release Comics - Wednesday, February 25

The breakout star from Spider-Verse gets her own comic this Wednesday in Spider-Gwen #1 by the same creative team that brought you her debut story, Jason Latour and Javier Rodriguez. As the title says, Gwen Stacy is Spider-Woman. But what does the future have in store for her now that she has bested the trials of the Spider-Verse events? You'll just have to pick up this already fan-favorite book to find out! And if you missed it, you'll want to check out Silk #1 from last Wednesday. If you're looking for a little more Spider-Verse fallout, don't miss the new Amazing Spider-Man #15 by Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli.

Check out the rest of this week's highlights and a full list of releases after the break.

Marvel also has your Star Wars needs covered with Darth Vader #2 by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca. In the first issue, Gillen's writing perfectly captured the essence of Darth Vader and reminded readers why Vader is one of the best on screen villains out there. Combine that with Larroca's art, and you have a true heir to the Empire with this series. Marvel has done a great job at the wheel of the Star Wars comic franchise so far, so if you haven't checked the books out, you really should.

The Joker has returned to Gotham and is turning the Batman's city upside down. Batman #39 by Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Greg Capullo presents the penultimate chapter of "Endgame," and readers will not want to miss this game changing story line as it unfolds. And if a city thrown into chaos is you thing, you'll want to pick up Suiciders #1 by Lee Bermejo. After the "big one" hit Los Angeles, the government abandoned the city and wrote it off. Now, years later, New Angeles thrives as a post-apocalyptic paradise thanks to the televised death matches featuring super powered fighters pumped up on drugs and tech.
