If you're looking to get a Bat-story outside of DC's 'Death of the Family' storyline, check out this week's Batman and Robin Annual #1 by Peter J. Tomasi, Ardian Syaf, and Vincenter Cifuentes. Robin and Batman venture out on a globetrotting adventure to uncover family secrets that will change both of their lives. If you thought you knew Bruce before, you may want to read this issue. Don't worry because there is still a 'DotF' story in Teen Titans #16 by Lobdell and Booth. This issues mirrors the events of Red Hood and the Outlaws #16, following Jason Todd and Tim Drake as they fight to survive. Meanwhile, Arsenal takes control of the team in Red Robin's absence. And you won't want to miss this: the return of Raven! Green Lantern Corps Annual #1 by Tomasi and Chris Cross, features the culmination of the past months with the end of 'Rise of the Third Army!' The Guardians have shut down the Corps with the help of the Third Army, but the Will of the Green Lanterns is strong. This all leads into the next big Lantern event! Then, Aquaman #16 presents the penultimate chapter of 'Throne of Atlantis.' Aquaman is forced to make an impossible choice between the Ocean Master and the League, and the horrible force of destruction, the Trench, returns!
DC has several other titles this week outside of the New 52 Universe that are worth a look. Before Watchmen: Dollar Bill #1, by Len Wein and Steve Rude, expands upon the every growing history of Watchmen. This one-shot story focuses on Bill Brady, the Minuteman that wanted to be an actor. Wein looks at this book as a chance to shine a spotlight on a character that has only been known for the way he died. Before Watchmen: Ozymandias #5, by Wien, Higgins, and Jae Lee, continues Ozymandias' rise to power. Comics and video games fans eagerly anticipating DC's newest fighting game Injustice will want to read Injustice: Gods Among Us #1 by Tom Taylor and Jheremy Raapack. This prequel comic details all of the events leading up to the new game. The final issue of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #6 is out, and those of you enjoying the series should also read Masters of the Universe: Origin of He-Man #1, featuring the first battle between He-Man and Skeletor!
Marvel's hottest, newest, and best hero is back this week in Superior Spider-Man #2 by Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman. Spider-Man faces the all-new Sinister Six, and Peter Parker and Mary Jane are reunited! But will she like the new and "improved" Parker?
