A new Spider-Man and more this Wednesday, August 3

After Peter Parker's ultimate sacrifice to protect friends, family, and New York from his rampaging rogues gallery in Ultimate Spider-Man #160, the world's heroes and the people of the city wonder why such a tragedy occurred. However, before the web-shooters are cold, a new Spider-Man swings into the pages of Ultimate Comics Fallout #4 this week, shocking everyone! Who is behind the mask? Is Peter alive? Did another clone survive? Is there a completely new player on the field? Where have the X-Men been? What is going to become of Captain America and the Ultimates? All of these questions and more will be answered in the final chapters of Ultimate universe defining story arc. You will not want to miss the reveal of the new Ultimate Spider-Man!

This week, IDW, in cooperation with Marvel, releases Walter Simonson's Thor: Artist's Edition HC, the follow up to last years Dave Stevens' Rocketeer, Artist's Edition. This new collection presents Thor issues 337-340, Simonson's first story, and 360-362, one of his favorite story arcs. The introduction of the classic character Beta Ray Bill in #337 and the rest of the issues are all scanned in color from Simonson's personal original art to ensure the highest quality of reproduction. Printed in the same size as the original art and using paper as close to the original art board as possible, this book will make you think you are seeing the real thing, corrections, blue pencils and all! This is a beautiful book you will not want to miss.

Frank Castle returns in Punisher #1 by Eisner award winning writer Greg Rucka and artist Marco Checchetto. Castle is back in New York city with blood on his hands and vengeance in his eyes. The streets are full of criminals. The police are doing their best, but their best is not enough. Only the Punisher can deliver the brand of justice needed to clean up the dirt, but will he be able to survive the darkness he carries with him? In this new series, Greg Rucka aims to strike a balance between Punisher's gritty MAX series and his previous adventures in Marvel's super hero universe. Those disappointed by the Punisher's previous incarnation should rejoice because Frank is back.

Robert Kirkman, hit writer of Walking Dead, and Rob Liefeld, legendary artist, join forces to bring you Infinite #1 from Image Comics! Bowen, a battle hardened freedom fighter, has lost his friends and family in the war to stop Imperius and The Infinite from taking of the world. In a last ditch effort, Bowen must travel back in time and team up with his younger self and best friend, Case to fight a battle that seems impossible to win. Fans of action, adventure, and classic Image books of the 90s should not miss this new series!

Terry Moore's latest book Rachel Rising #1 from Abstract Studios hits shelves this week. Waking up in a shallow grave is unnerving enough, but when Rachel wakes up and discovers that the body in the grave is her own, her whole world is turned upside down. With the events of her death a blur, Rachel seeks out her boyfriend but finds him with a new girl already. After this discovery, Rachel starts to wonder if she returned for a reason. That reason? Revenge.

DC has several big hitters coming out this week. Flashpoint #4, the penultimate chapter in the series, brings the new DCU even closer, and Flashpoint: Batman, Knight of Vengeance #3; Deathstroke, The Curse of Ravager #3; Secret Seven #3; and World of Flashpoint #3 continue to expand the Flashpoint universe. The DC Retroactive series continues into the next decade in Batman, The 80s #1; Wonder Woman, The 80s #1; and The Flash, The 80s #1!
