Start the month right with new comics this Wednesday, February 2

Based on Sony's hit online game, DC Universe Online: Legends #1, written by legendary Marv Wolfman and favorite Tony Bedard, hits shelves this week.  Lex Luthor is defined by his obsession with destroying the Man of Steel, but this time he has gone to far. Lex has made a deal with Braniac that may have doomed the entire human race. This ultimate tale of good versus evil will unfold as a biweekly series and is sure to be a great read for long time DC fans and fans of the MMO.

Kicking off Marvel.1, Invincible Iron Man #500.1 is the perfect jumping on point for anyone interested in getting on board fan-favorites Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca's amazing run. Tony Stark is taking a step into the future, and this Armored Avenger will soar to never before seen heights but not alone. Make sure to check out the Iron Man of the 21st Century!

The Merc With the Mouth is mourning the lose of his best friend Cable. In Deadpool and Cable #26, Deadpool decides that the perfect way to honor his pal is to establish a Cable museum, amusement park, and TV show in their old stomping ground, Rumekistan. However, things aren't like they used to be in this fictional European land, and Deadpool's appearance is only making things worse.

For the first time in 20 years, Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen reunite on Legion of Super Heroes Annual #1 as they bring the new and deadly Emerald Empress up against the super team of the 31st century. The Legion is not prepared for this incredibly powerful foe, and they pay the price. One of the Legion will never be the same after this.

Bat-fans have some great books this week with the release of Batman Beyond #2, Batman Odyssey #6, Batman Confiddential #53, Gotham City Sirens #19, and Batman: The Return of Bruce Warne Deluxe Edition HC (collecting the six-issue miniseries).

Fans of Superman should be an eye out for the Superman 80 Page Giant, 2011. This book has seven new stories about Superman and his friends by some of the industry's up-and-coming talent. Jeff Lemire's Superboy #4 is also out this week, continuing the tales of the strange in Smallville. The final chapter of the "New Krypton" storyline is collected in Superman: War of the Supermen HC, containing issues 0-4 and a page from Superman #700.

Jeff Lemire's Sweet Tooth continues this week with issue #18. The crew sets out sets out for the long journey to the North in search of answers, but can they hold together long enough to even get started? This stand-alone issue is presented in a horizontal storytelling format. If you have never read this series, give yourself a treat and check out the first collected volume of the series.
