Celebrate the New Year with some great comics on January, 5th!

After the success of last year's mini-series, Batman Beyond is back in the first of issue of the new ongoing series written by Adam Beechen with art by Ryan Benjamin and John Stanisci. Terry McGinnis and Bruce Wayne return in this series set in the DCU's future, and they are stronger than ever after their encounter with Hush almost bringing their alliance to a an end. However, their newest super-powered baddie won't give them a break and even has the Justice League coming to Neo-Gotham to hunt him down.

From the hit creative team of Jason Aaron (writer) and Ron Garney (artist) comes the newest title in Marvel's Ultimate universe, Ultimate Comics Captain America #1. This new mini-series pits Captain America against Captain America! Yes, you read that right; Captain America is going up against one of his strongest opponents yet, Captain America of the Vietnam War. As these two face off, see what sacrifices one man makes to serve his country and learn secrets from the super soldier program never before revealed.

DC has two one-shots this week focusing on some of your favorite characters. Steel #1 is written by Dr. Who novelist Steve Lyons with artist Sean Chen and focuses on John Henry Irons, the man turned man of steel. This story reveals the determination of Irons that keeps him going through thick and thin and keeps him between Metallo and the destruction of Metropolis. Starman/Congorilla #1 is written by regular Justice League of America writer James Robinson with art by Brett Booth. Starman and Congorilla join forces to discover the secrets behind the Omega Man's dark energy that encases Washington D.C. in this tie-in to the JLA Omega storyline. Their search will take them on a quest to find the Fountain of Youth while running into other DCU heroes and outwitting terrorist assiassins from Gorilla City!

Don't miss the beginning of the 'No Way Out' storyline in Walking Dead #80 and the start of Walking Dead Weekly #1, which reprints the entire series from the the beginning.

Our Marvel fans will be pleased to see Avengers: The Children's Crusade #4 and Avengers Prime #4, hitting shelves this week.
