DC and Grant Morrison's long awaited Multiversity #1, with art by Ivan Reis, hits store shelves this Wednesday! The new series spans the 52 alternative Earths that comprise the DC Multiverse. Each world introduces readers to DC's heroes like they've never been seen before. In the first issue set on Earth-23, President Superman uncovers something that threatens the entire Multiverse, and only a group of the best heroes from the different realities can stop it. You won't want to miss the beginning to what is sure to be a defining series in the DC Universe.
With the release of Multiversity #1 comes the beginning of Dr. No's Create Your Own DC New 52 Multiverse Contest! Morrison has revealed that seven of the worlds are yet undefined in the Multiverse. And that’s where you come in! What do you think those mystery verses could be? To enter, buy one of the special blank variant covers from Dr. No's and draw what you think one of the mystery Universes could be. Then return it to the store on or before September 10 to be entered into our contest to win the complete set of the remaining books in the Multiversity series (regular covers). After the contest is over, you'll get your unique cover back, so don't be afraid to let your imagination run wild; we will be evaluating submissions based on conceptual creativity as well as visual appeal. We will also post all entries on our website and Facebook for everyone else to marvel at. There will be a limited number of entries for the contest based on the number of blank covers we receive, so get here early to make sure you get a copy.
If you're a fan of crime stories, then look no further than Image's new series Fade Out #1 from the master team-up of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. The year is 1948. The city is Hollywood. A noir film is stuck, unable to make it past an ever increasing list of reshoots. The writer is harboring a dark secret. An actress turns up dead. And the studio doesn't want the good times to end. All of this combines to make one of the most ambitious stories from Brubaker and Phillips yet. As a bonus, all single issues will include back up articles that will not be included in future collections.
A historic cross-over featuring some of Pulp fan's favorite characters starts Wednesday in Justice, Inc. #1 by Michael Uslan and Giovanni Timpano. A missing airliner draws together three Pulp powerhouses: The Shadow, Doc Savage and The Avenger. Will these three be able to take down the evil that forced them together in the first place? With a team like that, I bet the bad guys will wonder why they even started the fight.
If you're looking for a team-up book a little less serious but just as action packed, you might be interested in Delinquents #1 by James Asmus and Kano. Quantum and Woody are not what you would describes as the world's best superheroes. Archer and Armstrong are an odd couple at best. Put these duos together, and you're in store for a comedic, action filled romp as they attempt to take down the Hobo King. Yes. You read that right. The Hobo King.
