New Release List and Highlights for Wednesday, November 26

Greetings everyone, and an (early) happy Thanksgiving to you! Books will arrive this week (and next) on time, so be here to fill up on great reads while you're waiting for the turkey to cook on Thursday. And don't forget our Thanksgiving Day sale from 1pm to 6pm and Black Friday sale from 11am to 4pm. Now, let's take a look at some of the books coming in this week!

Gotham City gets weirder this Wednesday with the all new series Gotham by Midnight #1 by Ray Fawkes and Ben Templesmith. If you thought you'd seen the strangest Gotham had to offer, just wait until you pick this book up. When things get odd in the City, Jim Corrigan is on the case. And if you need an extra dose of the messed up stuff, don't forget to pick up Arkham Manor #2 by Gerry Duggan and Shawn Crystal. After the Wayne Manor was transformed into the new Arkham, Bruce never imagined he'd visit again so soon... as an inmate! Of course, if you haven't had your fill of Bat-books, Batman Eternal #34, Batman 66 #17, and Batman Beyond Universe #16 will hold you over.

Check out more highlights and a complete list of the books being released this Wednesday after the break.

Morrison's unique storytelling technique pairs nicely with Quitely's art to form a fun reading experience. Marvel's two big events, AXIS and Spider-Verse, maintain spots on the list, and we expect them to for awhile. Spider-Woman #1 also made the Top 10. With all the "controversy" put aside, the book is a great read and well worth checking out. Did your favorite book the list this week? Let us know over at our Facebook page and Twitter.

New Release List and Highlights for Wednesday, November 19

The next chapter of The Multiversity hits shelves this Wednesday in Multiversity: Pax Americana #1 by the all-star team of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. Morrison and Quitely take readers to Earth-4 in this new tale featuring unique versions of classic heroes, including The Question, Blue Beetle, Captain Atom, Nightshade and Peacemaker. In a truly Morrison fashion, the story is told backwards, with more mysteries being revealed in every page. If you're new to Multiversity, every issue has been a self-contained story building towards a larger narrative, so you can pick this one up (or any of the others) without reading the previous ones.

This week welcomes the brand new creative team of Meredith Finch and David Finch to Wonder Woman #36. And with a new creative team comes an all new, epic story line great for new and dedicated readers alike. New allies and villains will make an appearance; plus, one of those new baddies will stand toe-to-toe with Wonder Woman and the Justice League. If all of that wasn't enough, this issue guest stars Swamp Thing! That's not all that's new for Wonder Woman! Peter J. Tomasi and Doug Mahnke take over creative duties on Superman/Wonder Woman #13. The super-couple's bond will be tested like never before in this new story line.

Check out more highlights and a complete list of the books being release after the break.

A Goodbye (of sorts) From Jared

Greetings, readers! Jared here. I wanted to let everyone know that Friday, November 14, is my last day as a store manager. I've decided to start a new adventure and see where it takes me. However, I'll still be a regular part of the store through continued Facebook, Twitter and posts to this blog. I'll even keep my picks going if they let me! I'll miss seeing our regular customers throughout the week, but you are all in good hands with the great staff we've built, including our newest member Morganne. You're also welcome to find me on my personal Twitter account or Facebook page.

New Release List and Highlights for Wednesday, November 12

Sam Wilson, formerly The Falcon, makes his self-titled debut in All-New Captain America #1 by Rick Remender and Stuart Immonen. In this spy-fi adventure, Wilson and Nomad team up to take on the terrorist group Hydra. The evil organization seems to be behind everything in the Marvel Universe and has managed to bring together Cap's worst foes in an effort to stop the new, heroic duo. Then, spinning directly out of AXIS, readers get Captain American and Mighty Avengers #1 by Al Ewing and Luke Ross. The new Cap in town gets the Mighty Avengers back together, but the recent change in ideology caused by AXIS immediately threatens the bonds of the reformed team. And if the team wasn't happy now, just wait until Spider-Man tries to rejoin the group!

Check out more highlights and a complete list of the books being release after the break!
