Today is Dr. No's Magic: The Gathering's Khans of Tarkir Prerelease Event!

Dr. No's Comics & Games Superstore is proud to host the prerelease events for Magic: The Gathering's new set Khans of Tarkir on September 20 and 21 at Noon. In the latest set, players enter the homeland of Sarkhan Vol where five fierce clans battle for control. You'll be among the first to choose the clan you'll support on the battlefield.

When you pick the clan you want to support, you'll receive a clan specific pack with one of eight different promo cards. That's right. Eight. Now, even when you go up against another player fighting for the same clan, you'll have to be on your toes because you won't know what you're up against.

Prerelease events are Sealed Deck format, so you'll build your 40-card minimum deck during the events using your prerelease packs. Players will keep all of the cards they open at each event. Top ranking players will even have the chance to win additional packs from Khans.

The prerelease will begin at Noon on Saturday, September 20, and a second event will be held at Noon on Sunday, September 21. Preregister now to reserve your spot in the tournament! We can't wait to see you here!

The winners of Dr. No's Create Your Own DC New 52 Multiversity Cover Contest

Last month, Grant Morrison and DC Comics launched Multiversity, an exploration of the different Earths that make up the DC New 52 Multiverse. However, seven of those Earths were left open to future writers' creativity. With that in mind, we held a contest for our customers to use the Blank Cover Variant of Multiversity #1 to create their own DC New 52 Earth. The winner of the contest will receive a free copy of the remaining books in the Multiversity series. In addition, as a thank you to all of our amazing participants, the runner-ups will get a free copy of this week's Multiversity: The Society of Super-Heroes #1. And now on to our winner, The Eldritch League of America:

After the break, we had Charles, the talented artist of this cover, tell us a little about his inspiration:

Multiversity continues this Wednesday, September 17

Grant Morrison's big DC storyline, Multiversity, continues this Wednesday with a new issue that stands alone and acts as the second part of the overall story. In Multiversity: The Society of Super-Heroes #1 by Morrison and Chris Sprouse, readers are taken to Earth-20, a world full of pulp-super hero action with post-modern sensibilities.  This issue introduces the demonic Green Lantern, the fighting women of Blackhawks, the mystical Dr. Fate, and other heroes as they go up against their evil counterparts from Earth-40. Also, come back to the blog tomorrow to see the winners of our Create Your Own Multiversity Cover contest!

The delve into DC's Futures End continues this week with a slew of new 3D-covered comics. The books to look out for this week include: Batman and Robin: Futures End #1, Batman/Superman: Futures End #1, Batwoman: Futures End #1, Green Lantern New Guardians: Futures End #1, Justice League: Futures End #1, Red Hood and the Outlaws: Futures End #1, Supergirl: Futures End #1, Superman/Wonder Woman: Futures End #1, Teen Titans: Futures End #1, Trinity of Sin: Pandora: Futures End #1, and Wonder Woman: Futures End #1.

Marvel's own universe hopping Spider-storyline continues in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 by Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez. In this universe, Peter Parker was never bitten by the radioactive spider. But don't worry, New York didn't go without its protector because Gwen Stacy became the chosen one. Now, the smart, charming and super strong Stacy swings through the city protecting those unable to do so themselves -- all while keeping her secret from her father, Police Chief Stacy! Continue your exploration of the Spider-Verse in Superior Spider-Man #33 by Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli. The Superior Spider-Man must find more Spider-allies across the different universes to help fight Karn, the man who aims to kill them all.

Today in a Dr. No's not so far, far away... Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG Beta Book!

The beta for the third installment of Fantasy Flight's Star Wars roleplaying game, Star Wars: Force and Destiny, has arrived at Dr. No's Comics & Games Superstore! This is your chance to play a Force powered campaign in the Star Wars universe created by Fantasy Flight. Here's what Fantasy Flight has to say:

The Force and Destiny beta is a limited edition, 256-page, softcover rulebook. Its core mechanics have already been tested extensively throughout the development of the Edge of the Empire™ and Age of Rebellion™ Core Rulebooks, as well as initial playtesting. It includes all the information on character creation, Force talents, adversaries, equipment, and vehicles that you need to run a complete campaign, and the beta comes with a complete adventure to get you started. Furthermore, because each Star Wars roleplaying installment is fully cross-compatible, the Force and Destiny beta can also serve as a supplement to your ongoing Edge of the Empire or Age of Rebellion campaigns, introducing a wealth of new playable species, careers, specializations, talents, Force powers, and opportunities for adventure.

As this is a Beta, you have the chance to play the game earlier than most people and provide valuable feedback to the creators of the RPG to make this the best game it can be. It is important to note that the book does not have all of the art the final edition will have and some of the rules/information are likely to change. Stop on by today to take your Star Wars game to the next level.

Skirt the edge of the Spider-Verse this Wednesday, September 10

Marvel begins the build up to the big Spider-Verse event in November with this week's Edge of Spider-Verse: Spider-Man Noir #1 by Fabrice Sapolsky and Richard Isanove. Peter Parker of the 1930s makes his reappearance as he goes up against Mysterio, but as if that wasn't enough, he is about to be pulled into the biggest Spider-event in years. Speaking of events, Death of Wolverine #2 by Charles Soule and Steve McNiven continues Logan's march to doom. Then, learn the secrets revealed about Deadpool in Original Sin in Deadpool #34 by Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn and Scott Koblish.

DC's dark future continues in this week's round of 3D covered books highlighting what all of your favorite heroes are up to five years in the future. The titles to keep an eye out for this week include: Batgirl: Futures End#1, Batman: Futures End #1, Birds of Prey: Futures End #1, Constantine: Futures End #1, Green Lantern Corps: Futures End #1, Infinity Man and the Forever People: Futures End #1, Justice League United: Futures End #1, New Suicide Squad: Futures End #1, and Superboy: Futures End #1. And while you're checking out the cool covers, don't forget to check out the two weekly DC books: Batman Eternal #23 and New 52 Futures End #19.

Images newest book is Copperhead #1 by Jay Faerber, Scott Godlewski and Ron Riley. On a backwater planet, there is a small mining town known as Copperhead. And that town just got a new sheriff: Clara Bronson. As if this single mom didn't have her hands full already on her first day, she has to deal with an uncooperative deputy, alien hillbillies and, of course, a massacre. Fans of the western and sci-fi genres will want to check this book out.

Last but not least, BOOM! Studio's Teen Dog #1 by Jake Lawrence finally hits store shelves. The title of the book says it all. Meet Teen Dog, the coolest dude in school! Rocking an awesome denim vest and his party attitude, Teen Dog and his friends tackle important subjects like pizza, time travel, skateboarding and blowing your mind! A very funny read that's great for all ages.
