3 Days Until Flames of Destruction, Yu Gi Oh!'s Newest Set!

Join us at Dr. No's on April 28 & 29 for the Sneak Peek of the newest Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game’s latest booster set, Flames of Destruction!

Flames of Destruction closes out the first Dueling season of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS era with a bang! This 100-card booster set will shake things up with new cards for established Deck themes, a brand-new Link Monster theme that can be played as its own Deck or spliced into existing strategies, the return of the Elemental Lords, and more!
These new Link Monsters have flexible Link Materials that let you use them in any Deck, and each one has two abilities: one that you use when you Link Summon the monster and one that’s always active. These powers range from retrieving any Spell or Trap Card from your Graveyard to changing the number of cards you get to draw each turn. With some strategic card placement, you could be drawing up to 6 cards at the start of your turn instead of just 1!
To make the most of these abilities, you’ll want to keep your Link Monsters co-linked. If you do, you’ll get a refund on the cost of the new monsters’ one-shot abilities and their always-on powers will grow much stronger! Try combining these monsters with cards like Tri-Gate Wizard from Structure Deck: Cyberse Link or Firewall Dragon from Code of the Duelist to gain even more from co-linking your monsters.
For over 5 years, the four Elemental Lords have stood alone as keepers of some of the strongest effects allowed in Dueling. In Flames of Destruction, the fifth Elemental Lord finally arrives, along with the monsters tasked to guard their great powers from those who would misuse them! The newest Elemental Lord can only be Summoned while you have exactly 5 LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard and commands the power of Raigeki – the power to destroy all enemy monsters at once! This Elemental Lord is a great fit in Decks built using the LIGHT monsters from Structure Deck: Wave of Light. Those monsters specialize in preventing your opponent from making their best plays, but when your opponent does manage to Summon their best monsters, this new Elemental Lord can wipe them out!
The servants of the Elemental Lords can shift their Attributes while in the Graveyard, allowing you to adjust until you have exactly 5 monsters of the same Attribute as the Elemental Lord you want to Summon. While they’re on the field, they can help you search out your Elemental Lords, flip your opponent’s monsters face down, negate Spell and Trap Cards, and more! They even have their own Field Spell that lets you pay the cost of these effects by sending useful cards from your Deck to the Graveyard, making them better than free!
On top of all that, Flames of Destruction is full of cards that are useful in any Deck and cards that elevate popular themes to new heights! You could find…
Powerful Trap Cards you can activate from your hand.
A new “Trap Hole” that banishes monsters face down.
A Spell that revives one of your monsters in a Zone a Link Monster is pointing to.
A new “Topologic” Link Monster that banishes all Spells and Traps on the field when a monster is Special Summoned to a Zone it points to.
A Dragon that can erase all the cards in a single column and then render that column unusable.
A “Vampire” Link Monster that’s the perfect companion card to the vampires in Dark Saviors.
A “Trickstar” soloist that shrugs off activated card effects and inflicts big damage every turn.
… and more! This last 100-card booster set of the 2017-2018 Dueling season is poised to heat things up all summer long!

The Flames of Destruction booster set contains 100 cards:
48 Commons
20 Rares
14 Super Rares
10 Ultra Rares
8 Secret Rares

So come on into Dr. No's on October 14 & 15 at Noon to get your first look at this exciting new set!

Just Ten Days until Free Comic Book Day!

Free Comic Book Day is just ten days away! This year, publishers have created an amazing array of special offerings for the biggest day in comics! We will have a wide range of books for young readers, new readers, long-time fans, and and older readers interested in revisiting this remarkable art form. We will be giving away free comics from a wide selection of titles all day, beginning at 11:00 am and continuing until we close at 8:00 pm. While some titles may run out during the day, we will have plenty of free books, so don't worry about missing out.

Publishers have also produced an impressive array of bargain priced ($1 or less) versions of key books featuring some of comics' most popular characters, so this is a great way to check out some of comics' finest, both old and new.

As always, we will have an incredible array of talented creators at this year's Free Comic Book Day. Creators who have confirmed that they will join us between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm include:

Mark Bagley - Mark holds the record of having illustrated more Spider-Man comics than any other artist--not only did he draw an amazing run of Amazing Spider-Man issues, but he also (with writer Brian Michael Bendis) produced an incredible 100+ issue run of Ultimate Spider-Man--in fact, they hold the record for the longest uninterrupted run by the same creative team on any superhero series! Mark's work has appeared in Fantastic Four, Justice League, Batman, All-New X-Men, and many other titles; he is currently working on a Deadpool series, as well as providing an incredible array of eye-catching covers for Marvel.

Julie Hadden Barclay - Julie is a talented colorist whose vibrant work has appeared in Action Lab's Hero Cats and Midnight series. She is currently working with Dean Motter on a new Mister X project. (And for those who don't know, Julie is a long-time member of the Dr. No's family, having worked with us for many years prior to pursuing her full-time career as a colorist, so we are particularly proud to have her joining us!)

Peter Cutler - Peter "Cap'n" Cutler is a freelance artist for comics, video games, books, album covers, and more. His work is influenced by Golden Age cartoons, Mad Magazine, and Harvey Comics, among others. He has worked professionally for Guy Gilcrest Productions, Continuum Comics, and Ralph Bakshi; he is currently working on Tiki Zombie for New Legend Productions and Hero Cats for Action Lab.

Les Dabel - Les is the driving force behind Dabel Brothers Publishing, a Georgia-based comics publisher that has a decade-plus history in the field. Dabel Brothers is about to launch a new wave of books that will include The Iron Druid Chronicles, based on Kevin Hearne's books; MEG, inspired by the Jason Statham film; Fitz and the Fool, inspired by the bestselling Robin Hobb series; and much more. Come by and talk with Les about his adventures in comics publishing!

Kristina Deak-Linsner - Artist, Creative Editor, Writer, Reference model & all-purpose Joe wrangler at Linsner Industries. Founder of lightisthenewdark art studios. Kristina Deak-Linsner has brought her years of fine art experience in the west coast gallery scene over to the house that Dawn built. After beginning her comics career at Dynamic Forces in the late 90's, she now uses her keen eye to help guide all Linsner products and projects such as: Sin Boldly, the Dawn & Vampirella crossover series, as well as Linsner's annual Dawn Sketchbooks (2011 to present). The graphic novel Dawn & Vampirella brings her comics career full circle by working with Dynamite/Dynamic Forces once again. In 2018 she will be working on the Vampirella series Roses For The Dead.

Mike Gordon - Mike is a podcaster, a publisher, and the writer of the creator-owned comic Tiki Zombie, produced with artist Peter Cutler (you just saw his name two paragraphs ago!). He has written a variety of other books offered through New Legends Productions.

Van Jensen - Van Jensen came to comics after a successful career as a magazine editor and a crime reporter. He is the creator of the Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer series and the Eisner-nominated graphic novel The Leg. His work has also appeared in the pages of The Flash and Green Lantern Corps, among other places. He is the writer of the original graphic novel Casino Royale, an edgy adaptation of the Ian Fleming novel that introduced James Bond to the world. He will be signing copies of Casino Royale and other projects here at Dr. No's on FCBD.

Joseph Michael Linsner - Joseph Michael Linsner has been writing and drawing the adventures of his creation Dawn since her first appearance in Cry For Dawn #1 in 1989. An award winning illustrator, Linsner has painted covers for all the major comics companies, adding his personal touch to Wolverine, The Black Cat, Conan, Killraven, Witchblade, Vampirella , and Harley Quinn, among others. He is currently working on Vampirella: Roses For The Dead and the next installation of his Dawn series.

Dean Motter - Writer, artist, and creator of Mister X, Dean has been in the business for a quarter-century. He is also the writer and artist of The Prisoner graphic novel based on the classic 1960s TV series, as well a the creator and writer of Terminal City and Electropolis. Dean's work has appeared in Batman: Gotham Knights, Wolverine, Batman: Nine Lives, Star Wars Tales, and many other books. He is  currently working on a new Mister X project, which will be colored by another Dr. No's FCBD guest, Julie Hadden Barclay.

Jorge Santiago Jr. - Jorge burst into comics as the artist of the acclaimed series Spencer and Locke, but that's not his only professional comics work. Jorge is also the writer and illustrator of Curse of the Eel, Requiem Sonata, and Rare Drops, among other projects.

Wayne Vansant -  Wayne is the acclaimed illustrator of The 'Nam, Days of Darkness, The Hammer & The Anvil, Normandy: Bombing Nazi Germany, Katusha, The Red Baron, and other tales of the Civl War, WWI, and WW2. Vansant is a military and war history expert as well as a talented artist and writer.
