Yu Gi Oh Sneak Peek this Saturday and Sunday!

     Come on by Dr. No's Comics and Games Superstore this Saturday and Sunday, from Noon til 4pm, to get a look at the exciting new set for the Yu Gi Oh Trading Card Game, Shadow Specters! Sneak Peeks are a fun way to to play with the new set because it is a "casual play" event. A casual play event is not a structured tournament, but an event where you can show up anytime between noon and 4pm, play 3 games against whomever you want, and be entered into the drawing for the playmat!

   Each participant will get 5 packs of the new set, a special promo foil card, and be entered into a drawing for a special playmat featuring art from the Shadow Specters set!

Neil Gaiman and The Sandman return this Wednesday, October 30

Twenty-five years ago, Neil Gaiman introduced the world to The Sandman, and it has been beloved ever sense. Now, Gaiman returns to the series that made him who he is today. The Sandman: Overture #1 is the prequel story fans have been asking for, ranging from the birth of the galaxy to the the capture of Morpheus in the first issue of the original series. Art is provided by the amazing J.H. Williams; his widescreen portraits give life to the universe like never before. Fan's can also expect cameos from some of their favorite characters like Merv Pumpkinhead, The Corinthian, and the Sandman's siblings. Comic fans new and old won't want to miss Neil Gaiman and The Sandman's return to shelves this Wednesday.

Batman's son Damian returns this week, but not how you might think. In Damian: Son of Batman #1 by Andy Kubert, Damian's co-creator, readers get a glimpse of a future that may never actually come. Damian Wayne has adopted the cape and cowl of Batman, but what terrible events led to him doing this? Getting back to DCU proper, check out Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. #1 by Sterling Gates, Phillip Tan, Neil Edwards and Javier Pina. With the Justice League dead and A.R.G.U.S.'s headquarters destroyed, Steve Trevor and his remaining agents have to protect suffering civilians from the Secret Society.  Wednesday also brings several new New 52 Annuals with it including: Aquman Annual #1, Green Lantern Annual #2, Action Comics Annual #1, Swamp Thing Annual #2, and more.

Marvel's big X-event wraps up this Wednesday with X-Men: Battle of the Atom #2 by Jason Aaron, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Kris Anka, Chris Bachalo, Stuart Immonen, and Esad Ribic. X-Men of the past, present, and future meet in the biggest battle in X-history. After this fight, their world will be changed forever, setting up the coming X-books in 2014, so don't miss it. Infinity #5, by Jonathan Hickman, Jerome Opena, and Dustin Weaver, continues Marvel's big return of Thanos event.  The war for Earth is underway as the heroes unite to take down Thanos; plus, Avengers Universe! Then, don't miss the very first adventure of Black Cat and the Superior Spider-Man in Superior Spider-Man #20, featuring new beginnings from the fallout of 'Necessary Evil.' And don't forget Superior Spider-Man Team-Up Special #1, wrapping up 'The Arms of The Octopus' storyline. Other notable titles this week include Punisher: Trial of Punisher #2 and Kick-Ass #4.

Red Circle Comics, an Archie Comics imprint, debuts its new series from Mark Waid, Dean Haspiel, and Allen Passalaqua: Fox #1! From the world of the New Crusdaers comes Fox, a pulp-inspired hero for a new age. When Paul Patton, Jr. became the high-flying Fox, he never expected he would be such a Freak Magnet. For your Forever Evil fix, check out Justice League #24 by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado. With the Justice League gone, the Secret Society is on top, but Black Adam may have something else to say about that. In Justice League Dark #24 by Ray Fawkes and Mikel Janin, the Dark League is survived by one man: John Constantine. Jack is stranded in a strange future ruled by the wizard Aku, but the ancient artifact known as the Rope of Eons may be the key to getting Jack home. Everything is on the line for Jack, so don't miss the next era of samurai action.

Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting, the team that redefined Captain America, have joined forces with Image comics to bring readers Velvet #1. When the world's best secret agent is murdered, the Personal Assistant to the Director of the Agency and former field agent Velvet Templeton is called into action once again after nearly 20 years. Action, murder and mystery quickly find Velvet in this dark, new twist on the spy genre. Don't miss this extra-length first issue from this creative dynamic duo. The Rogues rebel this Wednesday, October 16

The Rogues are the focus of DC's newest tie-in mini-series Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion #1 by Brian Buccellato and Patrick Zircher. The Secret Society expects every villain to fall in line and follow its lead, but the Rogues are their own boss. Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Heatwave, Weather Wizard and the Trickster are facing certain death from their defiance of the Society, but will the pressure destroy the team from the inside before anyone else has a chance? For fans of the series, Forever Evil #1 Director's Cut reprints the entire first issue in David Finch's pencils and reprints Geoff Johns' original script. And if you want to get a look at what happened to some of the heroes before the start of Forever Evil #1, don't miss Justice League of America #8 by Matt Kindt, Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy.

Two-Face gets his first dedicated, multi-issue story in The New 52 in this week's Batman and Two-Face #24 (Batman and Robin #24) by Peter J. Tomasi, Patrick Gleason and Mick Gray. In part one of "The Big Burn," Batman begins tracing the connection between Harvey Dent's history and the appearance of Carrie Kelley. In Batman/Superman #4 by Greg Pak and Jae Lee, the first arc of this new series comes to a close as one world dies to save another, and we find out why Batman and Superman have no memory of their first adventure. Also out this week, the long awaited collection of Joker's return to the DC New 52 is available in Joker: Death of the Family HC.

Part two of Marvel's "The Arms of the Octopus!" hits this week in Indestructible Hulk Special #1 by Mike Costa and Jake Wyatt. The All-New X-Men and Superior Spider-Man enlist the help of Banner to discover why and how Doc Ock has returned, but Ock isn't the only dead-guy popping up as Abomination makes his return. If you want the full Infinity story, pick-up Avengers #21 by Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Francis Yu. Witness the beginning of the final battle for the Marvel Universe and the fall and rise of a Galactic empire. Avengers Assemble #20 by Al Ewing and Pepe Larraz is another Infinity tie-in; this issue features an appearance by the Uncanny Avengers! And don't forget part seven of "X-Men: Battle of the Atom" in Uncanny X-Men #13 by Brian Michael Bendis and Chris Bachalo. While there are a lot of great books this week continuing the stories you know and love, think about giving Oni Press's newest series Letter 44 #1 by Charles Soule and Alberto Alburquerque. Stephen Blades has become the next President of the United States, but the country's new leader isn't prepared for the letter left for him in the Oval Office by his predecessor. Seven years ago, NASA discovered we were not alone in the universe. At the time, a crew of astronauts were sent out to investigate, and they're long mission is finally at its end. Find out what they discover and what it means for the world. Don't worry about investing too much money into trying out a new series because the first issue is only $1!

Zombies invade Riverdale this Wednesday, October 9

Wednesday marks a bold new direction for Archie comics with the release of Afterlife With Archie #1 by Harvey Award-winning writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Eisner-winning artist Francesco Francavilla. The end of the world is upon Archie and friends in the first story-arc "Escape From Riverdale." A horrible accident leads to Jughead and Sabrina the Teenage Witch unleashing an evil upon the world that no one is ready for. Roberto captures the classic feel of the Archie characters everyone knows and loves but works them into a world of horror you've never seen them experience before. DC comics launches the all new Superman/Wonder Woman #1 by up-and-coming writer Charles Soule and fan-favorite artist Tony S. Daniel. Inside this book, you'll read of a love story between two super-beings that could spell Doomsday for everyone. While Superman and Wonder Woman love each other, there are many that don't share the feeling as they worry what might happen when two god-like heroes enter the battlefield of love. However, all is not hugs and kisses in the DCU. When the Secret Society gripped the world in their reign of terror, no city felt it more than Gotham City. In Forever Evil: Arkham War #1 by Peter J. Tomasi and Scot Eaton, Gotham is overrun by the former tenants of Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison, and with Batman presumed dead, what will become of his city? Speaking of the Bat, "Zero Year" part four picks up in double-sized Batman #24 by Scott Snyder and Gregg Capullo. A young Dark Knight is in hot pursuit of the Red Hood Gang and its mysterious leader, and you won't guess the secret origins that will be revealed along with something that'll change Batman's life and the course of "Zero Year."

Marvel's secret group of some of the most powerful heroes on the planet (and off), The Illuminati, stand against Thanos in Infinity #4 by Jonathan Hickman and Jerome Opena, and Thor enters the picture as the fall of worlds is determined in negotiations. Tie-in issues this week include Superior Spider-Man Team Up #4, by Christopher Yost and Marco Checchetto, and Fearless Defenders #10, by Cullen bunn and Will Sliney. Part seven of "X-Men: Battle of the Atom" hits this week in X-Men #6 by Brian Wood and David Lopez, and the Jean Grey School becomes a battlefield when the X-Men and Future X-Men are attacked. A few other notable titles this week include Avengers Arena #16, Dexter #4, Thor: God of Thunder #14 and more.

This week, Vertigo presents the all new comic Coffin Hill #1 by noted author Caitlin Kittredge and artist Inaki Miranda. Ten years ago, Eve took part in a night of sex, drugs and witchcraft that left her naked, bloody and without memory of how she ended up that way. Soon after, she finds out one of her friends is missing, one has been admitted to a mental institution and another says Eve caused everything. Now, Eve has returned to the town of Coffin Hill after her career as a Boston cop is cut short by a bullet. However, the evil she unleashed that horrible night never left Coffin Hill and has cursed the small town ever since. Fans of horror should not pass this book over.

Image Comics' The Walking Dead celebrates its 10th anniversary with the kick-off of the comic's biggest storyline ever "All-Out War" in The Walking Dead #115 by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard. This is the beginning of Rick and Negan's final confrontation; to not leave readers hanging, this also marks the start of The Walking Dead releasing twice monthly for six months. That is a whole year's worth of everyone's favorite zombie book in half the time! To celebrate the anniversary, issue #115 ships with 12 covers: the standard cover (pictured to the right), 10 covers that form a continuos, connecting piece of art depicting major story events from the book's history, and a blank cover. The celebration doesn't stop there! The Walking Dead #1 10th Anniversary Edition presents Kirkman and Tony Moore's classic issue in full color for the first time by colorist Dave Stewart; included with this issue are the various covers done for it throughout the past 10 years and other bonus material. If you thought that was all, you'd be mistaken. The Walking Dead Tyreese Special reprints the character's first appearance from way back in issue seven and the new origin story originally in the FCBD issue. Last but not least, the third novel The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor hits shelves.

Image has a new book kicking off this week by Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder: Rocket Girl #1. Dayoung Johansson is a high-tech, future teenage cop that has been sent back in time to New York City circa 1986. As she investigates the time crimes of a megacorporation, Dayoung discovers that her timeline shouldn't even exist. Give this new ongoing series a try. In Three #1, writer Kieron Gillen and artist Ryan Kelly tells the story of three slaves on the run from 300 of the greatest Spartan warriors. If you liked Frank Miller's 300, you'll want to read this book.
