Flash forward twelve years, and DC has brought back the long sought after "lost" book as DC Comics Presents Elseworlds 80-Page Giant! This fresh printing contains the 'controversial' Letitia Lerner, Superman's Babysitter, the Birds of Prey comic strip, a Kingdom Come parody, Superman Jr. Is No More!, and much more. This is a great book that any DC fan should check out.

When someone wakes up in a bathtub full of ice and an incision on his side, something is usually missing. However, in this odd case, a kidney has been added! This sounds like a job for the Witch Doctor, and sure enough, black magic soon rears its ugly head! The hit web series The Guild returns to store shelves with the new one-shot The Guild: Zaboo, co-written by the show's creator and star Felicia Day and costar Sandeep Parikh! Incorporate some new comics into your collection this Wednesday, December 21
Before the big DC relaunch, Grant Morrison brought about one of the biggest changes to the Bat family: Batman Incorporated! Spinning directly out of the last series, the Batman Incorporated: Leviathan Strikes one-shot finds Batman outwitted by the Leviathan, and with Bruce no longer sure of his adversary's true identity, he finds himself unprepared for what will come next. Who is the Leviathan? A familiar face back to settle the score or a new face in crime? Grant Morrison is back on writing duties for this issue with art by Cameron Stewart and Chris Burnham. Will you be prepared for the shocking ending?
IDW is celebrating 125 issues of their Transformer comics, and what better way to celebrate than taking the book in new directions! After Chaos, the fate of Optimus Prime was left a mystery, but in Transformers: Death of Optimus Prime, all will be revealed. In a place unknown to him, Optimus sits in contemplation. The battle cost him dearly, and his ability to carry own is called into question. After this issue, things will never be the same for the Autobots and their leader. A couple of other notable IDW books out this week are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #5 and Dungeons & Dragons: Drizzt #4!
Marvel's mutant fans will love this week! Wolverine and the X-Men #3 continues the new Institute's first day, which has not be good to say the least. Writer/artist Joe Benitez's beloved series Lady Mechanika returns with the long awaited third issue of this steampunk adventure. Lady Mechanika continues her search for the 'Mechanical Girl' and finds herself aboard Lord Blackpool's airship during a masquerade ball. While Blackpool wows his guests with his latest weapons, Mechanika makes a discovery that could lead to information on her own creation.

Cable returns this Wednesday, December 14
Last week, Marvel announced Avengers vs X-Men, which they are calling their "biggest event in comic book history!" But you won't have to wait until next April to see the opening salvo. This Wednesday, the superstar team of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness kick everything off in Avengers: X-Sanction #1! Presumed dead after the events of X-Men: Second Coming, Cable returns to the present with one deadly mission: to save the world, he must kill the Avengers! First on his list is Captain America, and only one will be able to walk away. Don't miss the return of Cable and the lead in to next year's big event!
Also from Marvel this week, the critically acclaimed team of Zeb Wells and Clayton Crain brings everyone's favorite red and black symbiote that they love to hate back in Carnage USA #1! After the events of their Carnage (2011) series, Cletus Kasady has returned as Carnage, and he plans to continue his deadly rampage. Spider-Man and the Avengers will have to hunt Carnage down before he one small town in America's heartland pays the ultimate price.

On sale this Tuesday (that's right, a whole day earlier than the other books!), the DC Comics: The New 52 HC collects all of the first issues from the recent relaunch. This great collection, which also makes an awesome gift, weighs in at over 1,000 pages of action packed stories! DC has another new mini-series this week by Justin Gray and Rich Perrotta: Ray #1. Lucian Gates is transformed into the all-new Ray after being struck by a beam of energy, and his life will never be the same. His city is in luck, however, because its new protector is just what it needs when giant monsters attack from out of nowhere!
Dark Horse Comics presents the Star Wars' universe's very own James Bond in Star Wars: Agent of the Empire, Iron Eclipse #1 by John Ostrander and Stéphane Roux. His name is Cross. Jahan Cross. He is the Empire's newest secret agent. With the assistance of his droid IN-GA 44, Cross must travel to the Corporate Sector and track down some stolen droid technology, where he is sure to make a lot of people not so happy.
Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's vampire novel The Strain has entered the world of comics in the Dark Horse adaptation by Daniel Lapham and Mike Huddleston. When a plane lands at the JFK International Airport and goes dark on the runway, the CDC is called in to investigate. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and his team of biological-threat first responders are on the scene, but one elderly man suspects darker more ancient threat.
Robert Kirkman's epic continues in The Walking Dead TP Vol. 15, collecting issues #85-90. Also, don't miss The Walking Dead #92 out this week as well.

Zombies, Turtles, Mutants, and Giant Robots are all here Wednesday, December 7

The hits keep coming as IDW follows in the original serie's footsteps with the release of the first of four issues in a new micro-series entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Raphael. Feeling like an outsider, even among his family, Raphael is having trouble finding his place until he meets another mutant by the name of Alopex. She may have new information regarding the Turtles' origin, but Raphael will have to help her (and himself) survive the night as Alopex is hunted alive! The other three Turtles will be the stars of their very own one-shots to come later.
The effects of Marvel's Fear Itself are still being felt, and the final Worthy continue their rampage! One group will stand against them. They are the Defenders! Written by Matt Fraction and art by Terry Dodson, Defenders #1 brings together The Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange, Red She-Hulk, Immortal Iron Fist, and Namor to reveal the truth behind a conspiracy that reaches to the very core of the Marvel Universe!

In X-Club #1, Dr. Nemesis, Madison Jeffries, Kavita Rao, and Danger's gesture a goodwill to humanity, a space elevator, is near completion when all heck breaks loose, casting mutants in a bad light once again. Let's hope they can science their way out of this one. Some other X-titles to look out for this week are X-Factor #228, X-Men #22, and X-23 # 18.

Now, Dynamite Entertainment presents Voltron #1 by Brandon Thomas and Ariel Padilla, and the Force has never been as close to victory over Zarkon as they are now. However, Zarkon has a secret about Voltron that could change everything. This new series re-defines and re-imagines what everyone knows about Voltron and is great for new and old fans.
