Bat to the Future, November 17th

The new era of Batman starts this week with the release of Grant Morrison, David Finch, and Scott Williams' Batman: The Return! After a long journey back to present Gotham, the 'real' Batman is back, but what about Dick Grayson and Bruce's son Damian? This issue will bridge the Return of Bruce Wayne story to the new status quo. Speaking of the new status quo, once you read The Return, you can check out Grant Morrison's new ongoing Bat-book, Batman, Inc. The first issue, with art by Yanick Paquette, sets the stage for the next evolution of The Dark Knight's... franchise? Not only will readers get their fair share of Bruce Wayne as Batman, but also tons of guest-stars to the new, extended Bat-Family. Also, don't forget Batman #704 with Tony Daniel back as the regular writer and artist. Even though Bruce is back, Dick Grayson still has Gotham to worry about, so don't miss it!

With the release of New Fun #1 by Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson, DC Comics was born. Seventy-five years and over 40,000 comics later, DC has entertained and amazed fans of all ages. And to honor this, publisher Taschen has produced the most comprehensive retrospective of the company's history ever: 75 Years of DC Comics HC. DC veteran Paul Levitz, with the company for 35 years, provides in-depth essays spanning the company's amazing history. Oh yea, did I mention the book is huge? Measuring almost a-foot-and-a-half high and a foot wide, this massive tomb is bound to please fans.

Spinning out of Amazing Spider-Man's Grim Hunt story-arc, a new Spider-Girl takes the stage in the first issue of her new ongoing series by writer Paul Tobin with art by Clayton Henry. Anya Corazon has finally filled the shoes everyone but her thought she was ready for and now she just has to balance her teenage life with the rough and tumble life of a Spider-Family member. Also, this issue guest stars Marvel's first family, The Fantastic Four as Spider-Girl goes up against impossible odds.

The Chaos War rages on in the Marvel Universe, and even the dead are getting involved in Chaos War: Dead Avengers #1. The Vision, Captain Mar-Vell, Yallowjacket, Deathcry, Swordsman, and Dr. Druid find themselves returned to life to assemble against one of the Avenger's greatest foes and the Chaos King's most fearsome ally. For some, this will be the chance at redemption or a second life, but all of them will prove they are worthy of being called Avengers.

These books, and many more, will be available as soon as we open the doors on Wednesday, so come on by! (And if you want to get an idea what else you can expect, check out the covers below!)
