New Release Comics - Wednesday, July 15

Marvel is also still rocking the Secret Wars story, introducing a few new titles to readers this week. Meet the Guardians in Guardians of Knowhere #1 by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato. Battleworld has one moon, but it isn't an ordinary moon. It is Knowhere, the head of a dead Celestial. It is there you'll find these Guardians. In Siege #1 by Kieron Gillen and Filipe Andrade, you'll be introduced to The Shield. This is the place Doom sends people that annoy him. It is run by Abigail Brand. Among the people there are Miss America, Lady Katherine, the Endless Summers Company and more. They'll all fight to keep Battleworld safe, but will they all make it? Other Secret Wars tie-ins include Hail Hydra #1, Inhuman: Attilan Rising #3, Korvac Saga #2, Planet Hulk #3, Years of Future Past #3, Armor Wars #3, Secret Wars; Battleworld #3, Captain Marvel and Carol Corps #2, and Captain Britain and the Mighty Defenders #1.

With Ant-Man making his big screen debut in a couple of days, it only seems right for his book to come out this week. So it's no surprise to see Ant-Man Annual #1 by Nick Spencer, Ramon Rosanas, and Brent Schoonover hitting shelves. In this issue, Scott Lang and Hank Pym team-up to be super awesome together and fight a classic villain. Along the way, you'll even meet a new superhero! How cool is that?

The epic storyline "Darkseid War" continues this week in DC's Justice League #42 by Geoff Jones and Jason Fabok. Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor head every closer to their unavoidable conflict while Wonder Woman leads the league in a quest to stop it. However, the cost may be Batman's soul. And Mister Miracles comes face-to-face with a mysterious hero from the shadows. And the "Truth" storyline continues in Superman/Wonder Woman #19 by Peter J. Tomasi, Doug Mahnke, and Jaime Mendoza. Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad make an appearance!

I don't want to spoil anything for you in James Stokoe's new book about everyone's favorite big green lizard, but Godzilla is going to heck in Godzilla In Hell #1. If you thought Godzilla took a lot of punishment fighting monsters and humans alike on Earth, just wait until you see him make his way through every layer of hell. I'm not as worried for Godzilla as I am for the things down there.
