New Release Comics - Wednesday, February 11

If you finished with Marvel's first two issues of the new Star Wars comic and you felt like you needed more (and who doesn't?), you're in luck! This week fans get Darth Vader #1 by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca. In this new ongoing series, readers follow the Dark Lord of the Sith after the events of A New Hope as the story of the galactic struggle is told from the Empire's point of view. The Dark Side is sounding pretty good, isn't it? The Marvel galaxy has it's own problems in Guardians of the Galaxy #24 by Brian Michael Bendis and Valerio Schiti. The Slaughter Squad is after the Guardians and the X-Men. The good guys' only hope is the very device they're trying to get rid of: The Black Vortex!

Check out the rest of this week's highlights and a full list of releases after the break.

If an entire galaxy in turmoil doesn't do it for you, how about the entire Spider-Verse at war? This Wednesday marks the conclusion of the epic Spider-Verse story featuring Spider-People from across the many Marvel multiverses. As the hunters close in on the prey and a prophecy reaches its fulfillment, the Superior Spider-Man has one last plan. Will it prove to be his ultimate redemption? Find out in Amazing Spider-Man #14 by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel.

Harley Quinn has made her home in New York City. A new life without the Joker means Harley has an opening on her dance card, so when Valentine's Day rolls around and a charity auction for a date with Bruce Wayne is planned, she is sure not to miss it! Luckily, she recently came into the type of cash she needs for this type of event. But will Bruce or his secret identity survive a date with Quinn? You'll have to read Harley Quinn: Valtentine's Day Special by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, and John Timms to find out!

If you're looking for a great, new original graphic novel to spend some time with, look no further than this week's release of The Sculptor by Scott McCloud. David Smith wants nothing more than to realize his dream of being a famous sculptor. His work matters and he'll trade everything for the world to know. However, trading everything isn't so hard when everyone you know is dead. But when David meets a girl and finds he can love someone else as much as his dream, how will his life change? Humor, pain, happiness, tragedy. This has it all.
