The big events of comics continue this Wednesday, June 1

To ease anyone's fear, we want to let you know that Memorial Day has not impacted new books this week, so comics will come in as normal this Wednesday. We look forward to seeing you!

Shocking revelations and universe altering events continue this week in DC's Flashpoint #2 by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert! No matter the cost, Barry Allen has set out to discover where his world's super heroes have gone. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ocean, the clash between Emperor Aquaman and the pirate Deathstroke comes to a head. This Wednesday also sees the release of several mini-series that take a closer look at the faces of this world's heroes and villians, and as a bonus, each of these titles comes with a special pin to celebrate the event! In Flashpoint: Abin Sur, The Green Lantern #1, Abin Sur survived the crash landing on Earth and must sacrifice everything he holds dear to protect his sector. In Flashpoint: Batman, Knight of Vengeance #1, Wayne spends his nights protecting the streets as Batman, but at day, he spends his time running Wayne Casinos! Flashpoint: Secret Seven #1 sees a team divided as one betrays all of them. With the worlds greatest heroes gone or preoccupied, it is up to Traci 13, a 15-year-old-girl, to save the world in Flashpoint: The World of Flashpoint #1, but does she have what it takes to save a planet on the edge?

Marvel's big event also continues this week in Fear Itself #3 by Matt Fraction and Stuart Immonen. As the world panics in fear, Sin launches one of the worst attacks ever seen on American soil. Meanwhile, Loki has a scheme to end all schemes. All of this and major hero falls at the hands of the Serpent! You won't want to miss this shocking ending. Also on shelves, Fear Itself: The Deep #1 finds Namor hunted by one of Sin's hammer-wielding minions, and with the X-Men also under attack, Namor turns to an old friend, Dr. Strange, for help. Strange must form a team with enough power to stop the spread of fear already gripping the mainland to the sea, or the world may not have any hope left.

Frank Cho with co-writer Doug Murray and artist Axel Medellin bring you a new sci-fi epic this week in 50 Girls 50 #1. The crew of Space Vessel ESS Savannah and its beautiful crew are on a journey to discover the wormhole that will take them home, but along their way, they will encounter many exotic world and hostile aliens! Sci-fans will want to make sure they take a look at this book.

These books, and many more, will be available as soon as we open the doors on Wednesday, so come on by! (And if you want to get an idea what else you can expect, check out the covers below!)

This week, Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert bring readers DC's next big event in Flashpoint #1! Waking up at his desk, Barry Allen finds himself in a world rushing towards a cataclysmic war, but that isn't the only problem. Everyone is different. Friends and family once dead are alive while some are now gone. The heroes everyone knows have changed. Cyborg has become America's last hope, and he is trying to gather the likes of The Outsiders, The Secret 7, S!H!A!Z!A!M!, Citizen Cold, and others! Before you read Flashpoint, make sure you pick up Flash #12, which is also out this week. This issue concludes "The Road to Flashpoint" and leads directly into issue 1 of Flashpoint.

However, everything doesn't go as planned, and these young heroes may soon be dealing with their own civil war.

Batman: Arkham City #1, by Paul Dini and artist Carlos D'Anda, bridges the gap between hit games Batman: Arkham Asylum and the forthcoming Batman: Arkham City game. After stopping Joker's take over of Arkham, Batman is trying to return Gotham to a state of normalcy. Moon Knight is back--and he brought new comics for Wednesday, May 4

The dynamic-duo Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev (Halo, Spider-Woman, and Scarlet)  tackle their newest project this week in Moon Knight #1! Marc Spector has packed his bags, moved from New York to Los Angeles, and started producing a successful television series. But don't think he has abandoned his alter ego. In fact, he now has more money than ever to combat villains flocking to the west coast to get away from the Avengers in New York.  Even though things are changing, some are bound to stay the same; Spector is still dealing with multiple personalities, but he may have figured out how to make them useful by channeling the personalities of other heroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolvering and more! Can the new Kingpin of the west coast fight against a man who is never actually himself? Find out this week, as Moon Knight's latest adventure begins!

Fear Itself #2 is on shelves and picks up with Thor imprisoned by Odin as the Asgardians abandon Earth to deal with the embodiment of Fear itself. All of the world's heroes band together in hope of stopping the God of Fear, but when the Serpent's Hammer comes and summons the living avatars of evil, will the Avenger's and others even have a chance? Follow the action into Fear Itself: Home Front #2 as Speedball and Jimmy Woo and the Agents of Atlas each fight their own battles against the growing threat of Fear. Don't think it stops there though! Fear Itself: Spider-Man #1 by Christopher Yost and Mike McKone also starts this week. Spider-Man is running on empty as he attempts to protect the people of Manhattan as it is overtaken by Fear, but will he be able to overcome his own worse nightmares before it is too late?

The X-Men event of the 2011 is fast approaching, and Marvel aims to prepare everyone for it in X-Men: Prelude to Schism #1 by writer Paul Jenkins and artist Roberto De La Torre. With everything that has happened to the X-Men in the past few years, a break would seem in order for them, but not everyone (Wolverine) sees eye-to-eye after some of the choices made by their leader, Cyclops. This prelude to the big event aims to answer what it takes to be a leader and how it changes a person. Anyone looking to get into the X-Men should check this book out.

Some notable DC titles to keep an eye out for this week are Superboy #7, Batman Beyond #5, Secret Six #33, Adventure Comics #526, and more!

These books, and many more, will be available as soon as we open the doors on Wednesday, so come on by! (And if you want to get an idea what else you can expect, check out the covers below!)
