Marvel's first all ages graphic novel series under the Icon imprint hits shelves this week. Takio is Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's latest creator owned project since Powers about two adopted sisters. Like a lot of siblings, the sisters do not get along. One day, an accident gives both sisters superpowers, and they become the world's first actual superheroes! Follow along as they come to terms with these new powers and attempt to work together to save the world before dinner time. Fans of Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man, parents, and kids should certainly give this book a look.
If that isn't enough, Bendis and Oeming's Powers #7 is out this week. This cop drama meets superheroes story pushes forward with the death of God. Yes, God, and it is up to Walker and Sunrise to investigate the case. Oh yea, Walker's old partner Deena Pilgrim is back and the reasons are sure to surprise you. While this is all going on, the new Retro Girl fights for her life against a deadly alien virus. That is a lot of action packed into this amazing series. If you have never checked the book out, do yourself a favor and pick up one of the trades.
Marvel's weekly book 5 Ronin #1 starts this Wednesday. Set in 17th century Japan, each book thrusts one of five heroes (Wolverine, Psylocke, Punisher, Hulk, and Deadpool) into a violent land during tumultuous times. This week, writer Peter Milligan and artist Tomm Coker bring you Wolverine, a Ronin out for revenge against those that have wronged him more times than he can remember. This invincible warrior is sure to settle the score in an epic clash of steel and superpowers.
Grant Morrison's Joe the Barbarian #8 is finally here! Join Joe and his allies as they enter the battlefield for the final showdown against Death itself. Sacrifices must be made in this amazing conclusion to one of the most talked about miniseries in comics this past year.
Fans of Malachai and Ethan Nicolle's Axe Cop are in for a treat this week with the launch of the new Dark Horse miniseries, Axe Cop: Bad Guy Earth #1! The police (you know, the real ones) have finally noticed Axe Cop and his partner Dinosaur Soldier, but they are not happy that our amazing duo is doing the police's job better. Axe Cop and Dinosaur Soldier are hunted as criminals, and pair of actual alien villains make there appearance and turn the army into actual bad guys. Can the police handle this on their own? Nope.
They're back! Writer Frank Marraffino and artist Fernando Bianco bring you Marvel Zombies: Supreme #1. The twisted science of Project Pegasus has infected the Squadron Supreme with a virulent zombie strain. Now, Jill Harper and her spec ops team have to keep the plague contained within the facility. As they fight for their lives, Harper discovers the Squadron were not the only test subjects, and this discovery may end up being the key to saving the human race.

Spinning out of Invincible Iron Man, writer Nick Spencer (Morning Glories) and Artist Barry Kitson bring you Iron Man 2.0 #1! Lt. Col. James Rhodes', a.k.a War Machine, latest enemy is something he has never faced before. What is he to do when he can't shoot or blow up his enemy, let alone even see him? The Tru Blood supply has been contaminated, and the Southern Vampire population is going crazy. Sookie's world is out of control. This trouble isn't going to help the tension between the humans and vampires, but who is behind the bad 'Blood? For those looking to catch up, True Blood HC Vol. 01 is already out!
After the shocking conclusion of the last issue, Fantastic Four #588, epilogue to Three, spends a month with the FF, extended family, heroes, and villains reacting to and mourning the death of the Human Torch. Spider-Man also guest starts in a back-up story. This is the final issue before the launch of the all new FF (Future Foundation) #1.
The second printing of Age of X: Alpha #1 hits shelves this week and just in time! X-Men Legacy #245 continues the story of this dystopian world where the X-Men never existed and only a few mutants remain, but who are they? New Mutants #22 follows these last surviving mutants trying to stay alive in their stronghold, but when a conspiracy threatens them from the inside, all hope for them may be lost. Fans should also keep an eye out this week for Astonishing X-Men #36, X-Men #8, and Uncanny X-Men #533.

Grab some great books this Wednesday, February 16th!
Writer Greg Pak brings us the new character-defining epic Silver Surfer #1 with art by Stephen Segovia. Feared by many, the herald of Galactus walks the Earth again. However, the High Evolutionary has plans for the surfer that may change the cosmic balance forever and cost him everything. Watch and see if the Silver Surfer can survive the judgment of Norrin Rand, the man within the herald.
Then next book in the Marvel.1 initiative, Amazing Spider-Man #654.1, hits shelves this week. This is the start of a new story-arc, so it is a perfect jumping on point for new or lapsed readers wanting to get into Spidey's adventures. There is a new Venom in town, but he isn't the bad guy you may be used to. A new man wears the symbiote suit, and he is showing up Spider-Man in the hero department. Also, who will Spider-Man turn to in his moment of need?
Based on DC's new hit cartoon show, Young Justice #1 follows the adventures of some of the biggest heroes' sidekicks. Robin, Superboy, Kid Flash, Aqualad and more star in this action packed book for all ages. Superboy and Miss Martian are moving in to Young Justice headquarters, but strange visions of Superboy's past are out to ruin the day.
With Black Panther taking care of Hell's Kitchen, Matt Murdock has left behind the hero that he once was. Or has he? In Daredevil Reborn #2, Matt has come across a corrupt city in the New Mexico desert becoming worse day by day. You can take the hero out of Hell's Kitchen, but you can't take the Daredevil out of Mr. Murdock.
Garth Ennis' Jennifer Blood #1 is out this week and follows the story of a suburban, house mother turned night time vigilante. She may seem normal, making breakfast, taking kids to school, keeping the house in order, but after dinner and the kids and husband are asleep, she becomes a suburban punisher. Fans Ennis and Marvel's Punisher are sure to enjoy this book. Also by Ennis, Boys #51 is also out this week.
DC Comics fans will have a good week with the release of Brightest Day #20, Batman #707, Wonder Woman #607, Green Lantern #62, Booster Gold #41, and many more!

The Death of Spider-Man Begins this Wednesday, February 9
The Marvel Ultimate Universe event to change it all, "Death of Spider-Man," kicks off this week in Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates #1 by Mark Millar and Leinil Yu. Carold Danver's Avengers team of Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and Hawkeye face off against Nick Fury's covert New Ultimates team that will do anything to get the job done, and someone is going to pay the price in this no holds barred face off. The "DOSM" event draws closer in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #153 by Brian Bendis with art by Sara Pichelli and David Lafuente. Iron Man has taken Spider-Man under his tutelage as the Ultimate Avengers attempt to give him so real super hero training. Also out this week, don't miss Ultimate Comics Captain America #2 by Jason Arron and Ron Garney.
"Flaspoint," DC's big Flash-focused event of the year, is rushing closer and closer with the release of Geoff Johns' The Flash #9. Fresh out of the Speed Force, Hot Pursuit is set on patrolling speedsters good and evil alike. And everyone is left wondering just who is under that helmet anyways?
Marvel.1 continues this week in Wolverine #5.1 by Jason Aaron and art by Jefte Palo. In this kick-start issue for new readers, Wolverine's girlfriend throws him a surprise party and invites the X-Men and Avengers to celebrate the special day, which happens to be one of Logan's least favorite. More than likely, this birthday will not change his mind; blood never goes well with cake. Also out this week, Wolverine #1000, collects a series of stories taking Wolverine from Hell to WWII to the bayou and even the Mojoverse.
Fan-favorite series Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman comes out with issue 81 this week, continuing the gripping "No Way Out" storyline. For the newcomers, Walking Dead Weekly #6 will also be on shelves.
Fables fans can not get enough of this secret-agent, so here she is: Cinderella, Fables Are Forever #1 by Chris Roberson and Shawn McManus. Cinderella is back in an all-new miniseries where she will be investigating a series of murders on The Farm. Who could be behind them and how does Cinderella's past involved? Find out this week.
At long last, the hit series turned comic, Jericho, has found a new home with IDW. Pick up this week's Jericho Redux #1 that reprints the first three issues of the series before the story continues later this month.
