This Wednesday, DC Comics kicks off Batman Eternal #1 by Scott Snyder, John Layman, Tim Seeley, Ray Fawkes, James Tynion IV and Jason Fabok---a Bat-story so large it will take a new issue every week to tell the epic to its completion. In the first issue, Batman's ally on the GCPD, Commissioner James Gordon, ends up on the wrong side of the law. Eternal will include a wide variety of Batman villains and heroes, some of which will be introduced for the first time to the DC New 52. Then, in Superman/Wonder Woman #7 by Charles Soule and Paulo Siqueira, Doomsday is free and the Earth will feel his wrath; plus, find out how Wonder Woman and Superman make it out of a nuclear blast alive.

However, in this new series, Rand discovers revenge can go both ways as his blood-soaked past catches up with him. Then, a beloved X-Man attempts to understand the new status quo of the Marvel U in Nightcrawler #1 by Chris Claremont and Todd Nauck. Kurt Wagner returned from the dead, and the world is not what he remembers: Professor X is no more and the X-Men have turned on each other with Cyclops leading one faction and Wolverine the other. In the new series, Nightcrawler and Wolverine hit the road to defend mutant kind through ample use of swashbuckling and BAMFing. Don't miss out on the fun.
