As you may have seen on the news, read online, or heard on the radio (the cover was everywhere!), this week's Justice League #12 by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee finds two of DC's biggest heroes locking lips, but that's not all! The team is barely keeping together as David Graves attempts to destroy everything they love, and you won't want to miss the shocking conclusion of the issue. While you're waiting for the penultimate issue of Avengers vs. X-Men, Marvel has you covered with the release of AvX VS #5 by writers Matt Fraction and Jason Aaron and artists Leinil Francis Yu and Tom Raney. This new issue (also the penultimate book of this series) spotlights a high-flying, arrow-slinging fight between the X-Men's Angel and the Avenger's Hawkeye. Then, a house divided as Storm squares off against Black Panther. Looking for more action? Of course! The new Jean Grey School has its first graduate in Wolverine and the X-Men #15 by Jason Aaron and Jorge Molina, and Wolverine forms his own classic team of X-Men. Dazzler adjusts to her new life as a dimension hopping hero as she and Howlett vie for control of the team. Still not enough? To make the fifth week of August a little more interesting, DC is releasing a slew of Annuals in preparation for next month's issue zero origin stories. Readers don't want to miss Justice League International Annual #1 by Geoff Johns, Dan DiDio, and Jason Fabok because it ties-in with the events of Justice League #12. But that's not all! Booster Gold's team faces their final adventure as O.M.A.C.'s true nature is finally uncovered. Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver bring their amazing 'The Revenge of Black Hand' story to a close in Green Lantern Annual #1, but with every ending, there is new beginning! In Superman Annual #1, by Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, and Pascal Alixe, The Man of Steel is abducted by a group of aliens to take part in "The Games," but Superman isn't alone! Grifter, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkman all make a guest appearance. Detective Comics Annual #1, by Tony Daniel, Romano Molenaar, and Sandu Florea, presents the fight everyone has been waiting for: Batman versus The Black Mask. Let's shift gears into Flash Annual #1 by Francis Manapul, Brian Buccellato, and Marcus To. Flash barely held his ground against the individual Rogues, so how will he fair against the entire group? And if that isn't enough, a far greater threat lurks in the shadows, waiting for its chance to strike.
